The South Mississippi Children’s Center Advisory Board, is honored to extend a special invitation to you to join in supporting the 2011 ‘Vines of the World’ Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. This event will be held in Historic Downtown Hattiesburg at The Venue at the Bakery Building on Friday, September 30, 2011. Last year, we featured over 50 national and area sponsors. This year we hope you join us in supporting the Hattiesburg area’s only emergency shelter for children.

The "Vines of the World" Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction supports the region’s primary emergency placement shelter for abused, neglected, runaway and homeless children ages 9-17. When these children walk through the shelter doors, they often only have the clothes on their backs and are scared and hungry. The South Mississippi Children’s Center provides these kids a safe haven. At the shelter, the children are provided room, board, medical, dental, education and so much more.

The South Mississippi Children’s Center is a program of Mississippi Children's Home Services and is a first line of contact for children in need for children throughout South Mississippi, ranging from Jackson to the Gulf Coast and Mobile to McComb, a span that covers more than 30 counties. Our organization relies heavily upon grants and donations to bridge the gap between state-provided funding and the actual costs of rendering our services. Through the generosity and support of the community, the South Mississippi’s Children’s Center has provided and cared for thousands of children for more than 30 years.
