Many of the young men in our MCHS programs need strong male role models in their lives. The Men’s Mentoring Group was founded to establish relationships between the young men in our care and responsible adult males in our community. These relationships are transformational for youths who crave a positive, affirming relationship with an older male.
The Men’s Mentoring Group participates in functions such as monthly birthday parties hosted by the Auxiliary. This provides an opportunity to have casual but meaningful interactions with some of the children and youth in our care.
The Men’s Mentoring Group also hosts field trips to local area businesses in an effort to show our youth the available job opportunities. These field trips allow them to emphasize the importance of employment and a strong work ethic. Nissan, Sysco Foods and Valley Services are some of the area businesses that have opened their doors providing tours and human resources presentations.
If you would like to learn more about our Men’s Mentoring Group, or if your business would be interested in sponsoring a field trip, please contact 601-352-7784.
